- Description: Vishnudas Sheshrao Chapke is an Indian journalist, former college lecturer and overland circumnavigator. Inspired by an interview he conducted with naval captain Dilip Donde after his solo maritime circumnavigation in 2010, Chapke departed Thane railway station, Mumbai, on 19 March 2016 on what he initially planned as a three-month holiday to northeast India. What began as an unplanned trip expanded spontaneously into a three-year circumnavigation of the globe. Travelling west to east by a combination of walking, hitchhiking and public transport, entirely on a minimal budget funded by friends' donations, he covered 35 countries across five continents - Asia, Australia, South America, Central America and Europe - returning to Thane on 22 March 2019, after 1,097 days
