  • Description: Born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1958, Tony Mangan ran around the world from 25 October 2010 to 27 October 2014 - starting and finishing at the Dublin Marathon - covering 50,000 km (31,000 miles) across 41 countries on 5 continents in 1,461 days, running an average of 43.3 km per day. He carried mostly a backpack; in more remote areas he pushed a cart named Nirvana. The journey was run to raise funds for Aware, an Irish charity supporting people with depression
