  • Description: Palle Huld was a Danish actor and globe-trotter. In 1928, at only 15 years old, he won a competition organized by a Copenhagen newspaper to celebrate the centenary of Jules Verne’s birth. The prize was a journey around the world without ever flying. Huld’s itinerary took him through Europe and the Soviet Union to Japan, and then across Canada and the United States, returning to Denmark after 44 days and roughly 35,000 km (21,750 miles). His journey attracted major media attention and later inspired Hergé in the creation of Tintin

È giunto a Copenhagen sabato scorso il giovane danese Palla Huld, dopo aver compiuto in 44 giorni il giro del mondo, per commemorare il centenario di Giulio Verne. Bravo e ardito ragazzo.

Il giovane globe-trotter, Phileas Fogg in miniatura, sarà ricevuto con grandi festeggiamenti ed immancabile banchetto, al Savoy Hôtel di Londra, dal generale sir Robert Baden-Powell, capo degli Scouts.
