  • Description: In the late 1940s, Haiko de Poel embarked on a round-the-world journey on foot and hitchhiking. As a journalist, he differed from other globetrotters in his unique approach to travel: he funded his adventures by taking on odd jobs along the way. Tall and robust, Haiko was known for wearing the traditional costume of Dutch rural workers during his travels, a clear indication of his roots and adventurous spirit
