- Description: Paul Salopek is an American journalist and traveler who embarked on an extraordinary endeavor called "Out of Eden Walk" on behalf of National Geographic. Started in 2013, his project aims to walk about 34'000 kilometers, following the path of ancient human migration out of Africa towards the rest of the world. Salopek's journey begins in the Rift Valley in Ethiopia, crosses the Middle East, then Central Asia, and reaches Southeast Asia. From there, the plan includes a sea crossing to Alaska, and then proceeding along the western coast of the Americas to the southernmost tip of Argentina
