• Description: Werner Kropik is a Swiss adventure cyclist and filmmaker with a passion for reaching culturally remote destinations by bicycle, experiencing landscapes and their inhabitants from the perspective of a cyclist. Together with a companion, he completed an extreme bicycle tour departing from Peshawar in northwest Pakistan, riding through Chitral, Gilgit and the Hunza Valley to reach Kashgar in the Xinjiang region of China - a route crossing some of the highest and most challenging mountain terrain in the world. The journey was documented in his 37-minute film In 40 Tagen nach Kashgar (“To Kashgar in 40 Days”), presented at the Mountain Film Festival in Graz in 2002
