- Description: Anne‑France Dautheville is a French journalist, writer, and motorcyclist, celebrated as the first woman to motorcycle solo around the world. In 1972, she participated in the Orion Raid, riding a Moto Guzzi V7 from Paris to Isfahan (Iran), continuing through Afghanistan and Pakistan, and documented the journey in Une demoiselle sur une moto (1973). In 1973 she completed her solo circumnavigation - covering about 20,000 km (12,500 miles) across three continents on a Kawasaki 125 - retold in Et j’ai suivi le vent (1975). She later rode across Australia on a BMW in 1975 and traveled through Latin America on a Honda 250 in 1981, chronicling her journeys through numerous books and reports
