Description: Lon Haldeman was one of the first and most renowned ultra-cyclists. His achievements include numerous endurance records. In 1981, he set the "Double Transcontinental Record," riding from New York to Los Angeles and back in 24 days and 2 hours. That same year, he established the record for miles covered in 24 hours: 454. In 1986, he crossed the North American continent on a tandem with his wife Susan Notorangelo, setting a new record in 9 days, 20 hours, and 7 minutes
