- Description: Mark “Monty” Beaumont was a sport-loving kid with a taste for adventure. At 15, he cycled across the United Kingdom, covering 1,670 km from Lands End to John O'Groats. When Monty learned that Steven Strange had completed a round-the-world bike trip in 276 days, 19 hours, and 15 minutes, he decided to take on the challenge. His incredible race began on August 5, 2007, in Paris, where he would return 194 days and 17 hours later, setting a new record. The adventure was broadcast by the BBC in the program "The Man who Cycled the World"
