Maddock Sarah (w2217)
- Description: Sarah Maddock took up cycling in 1893, encouraged by her husband. During that period, she accompanied her husband on the Sydney-Bega route, a journey of 300 miles (483 km), averaging 60 miles (97 km) a day. The trip was recorded in the chronicles as the first route completed by a woman. The feat was eclipsed the following year thanks to the 574 miles (924 km) traveled between Sydney and Melbourne, completed in 9 days. In 1895, the couple undertook a 1'600 miles (2'575 km) journey from Sydney to Brisbane
