Attwell Eric, Jack (w1664)

  • Description: The two brothers set off in 1936 from Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and arrived in London the following year. Their improvised bicycle journey allowed them to avoid conscription. They left without money and with makeshift means to venture on tracks and rare roads, covering 11'000 km. They wrote a diary narrating their experience, titled "The Road to London"
