  • Description: Clare Consuelo Sheridan was an English sculptor, journalist, and writer - and Winston Churchill’s cousin - known for her daring 1924 motorcycle journey. Disillusioned by the Soviet Revolution in 1923, which had led to her being declared persona non grata in Russia, she nevertheless secured a visa and, with her brother Oswald Frewen, rode approximately 6,801 km (4,226 miles) from Sussex to Odessa on a 799 cc, 7 hp AJS motorcycle with sidecar - nicknamed “Satanella” - widely regarded as the first British motorcycle in the USSR
